Our Story & Values

At The Meadows Original Frozen Custard of Helotes, our family opened this shop with three core values in mind:

This page is dedicated to our community activities. We know there are lots of little events in people's lives happening at The Meadows without us being involved. Feel free to share photos and stories with us at TheMeadowsHelotes@gmail.com!

Cookin’ Up a Cure

On March 4, Sofia Resendez, Mariah Rowland, and Ben Gerber visited us with the goal of rasing money to support research for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). In their words, "Over 70 years ago, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) was founded by a family that lost their son to leukemia—a disease that was considered fatal at the time.  Since its founding, LLS has evolved into the world’s largest nonprofit dedicated to fighting blood cancers, pioneering many of today’s most innovative cancer treatments and therapies.  Despite our tremendous progress, one simple fact remains: nearly 50,000 individuals lose their battle against cancer every year in the U.S. alone, and, unfortunately, some of those individuals are children. Our campaign team’s goal is to raise $60,000, by March 8, 2025."

We were honored to support the team in their endeavors. They even collaborated with the San Antonio Broncos Club for even more support! Great job team! We know everyone had a great time and there were some very cool Broncos to see!

Trinity Erwin

On February 26, Trinity Erwin held a fundraiser for her NHS project to support sending books to build libraries in Africa. In her words, "To build a library in Africa, you must collect 1,500 books and $1,000 to ship the books to Africa. I also did a drive in 8th grade. I have already collected the books; however, I am still short $600 for shipping."

Trinity is a passionate person who is energetic and lights up a room. She organized the O'Connor Theater group to come out and perform during her fundraiser and advertised on social media. It was an epic night for everyone and there were lots of smiles and echos of laughter all around.

We were honored to have her and to support her and her cause. We know she will do great things in the future and cannot wait to see what she does with her energy and talents!

Cool Cars and Frozen Custard

On February 22, the Negative Influence Crew came to visit for their monthly meet up and to enjoy Meadows treats. It was a cold, rainy, and gloomy day but there were A LOT of cool cars to see. We had Nunchux food truck visit us and make up some awesome eggrolls and noodle bowls that have everyone craving more desserts!

The Negative Influence crew meets multiple times a week at various locations around town. They meet at The Meadows the last Friday of every month. Mark your calendars and follow us and them on Instagram for more details.

Helotes Market Days

The first Saturday of every month is always a fun one for us at The Meadows because we get to go out and serve our delicious frozen custard and Italian ice at the Helotes Market Days! We really enjoy getting out and meeting new people. This event allowed us to meet LOTS of people on a PERFECT day! We sold chocolate and vanilla frozen custard and 4 of our most popular flavors of Italian ice: Blue Raspberry, Cherry, Mango, and Root Beer. Lots of folks were trying gelatis where we layer the Italian ice and frozen custard (root beer and vanilla tastes like a root beer float!). Many were blown away and came back more than once!

This was also the debut of our new pop up tent with our logo and branding! Venessa put her skills and tools to work to make all the logos and lettering. We all know she did an amazing job and really brings the whole thing together in a way that looks perfect! Great job Venessa!

Helotes Family Food Truck Park

After finishing a great day at Helotes Market Days, we decided to go to The Helotes Family Food Truck Park! If you haven't visited, there are pickleball courts, food trucks, cornhole, a bar, a putting green, and lots of other fun stuff to do. The weather continued to be perfect and once the sun set, lots of our friends came out to visit. We got to chat with people late into the evening and serve our delicious desserts to customers who knew us and to folks who were just meeting us for the first time. We look forward to being at the Helotes Family Food Truck Park more often!
